Auction 191 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 954 in auction 191
Item Description
1" (25mm) with portrait of Lincoln and his name is on the brass frame reading "Abraham Lincoln 1860." Reverse depicts and reads "Hannibal Hamlin 1860." This design is listed as DeWitt-Sullivan as 1860-101. The Lincoln image is just slightly darkened but still extremely bold with clear details and the emulsion surface is essentially Mint. The Hamlin image has crazing but of a microscopic nature and again the emulsion surface is Exc. visually. Most bright gilt is off the Lincoln side but still very nice bright highlights on all the text and on the Hamlin side about 80% of the bright gilt remains. An extremely fine example rarely found with emulsion portraits this clean.
