Item Description
3" w/union bug on curl and horizontal bar pin. Slogan is an anglicization of an Irish language phrase, "Éirinn go Brách" meaning "Ireland Forever." Moderate wear from light use only in reflected light. Exc. These were likely issued during the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Chicago and/or Waukegan, IL. Chicago parade organizers barred Presidential candidates from the event because of an incident in 1980 w/Ted Kennedy's campaign but that didn't stop Colorado Sen. and contender for the Democratic Nomination Gary Hart from trying. Meanwhile Mondale walked the route in of the Waukegan, IL parade campaigning before his primary victory three days later on March 20. Rarely offered and among the most highly coveted Mondale campaign buttons.
