Item Description
Larger format 1.75" button, no maker. Yellow text with light red photos on cream design calls for close viewing. Muchinsky's book notes this was issued for a 1925 Shiners' national convention. On June 6, four matches were held. This button promotes two of the four bouts both in lightweight class. Sammy Mandell (upper left) defeated Phil Salvadore (upper right) and Tommy O'Brien (lower right) defeated Ace Hudkins (lower left). Some very light age on outer edge. High gloss and little actual wear. VF. One known to us. Paul Muchinsky Collection book photo example #108.
