Item Description
Each 1.5", with both curls reading "©1935 B.&B., St. Paul" (Brown & Bigelow Co.). Muchinsky notes this button design represents the first use of a boxer on an advertising pin-back. Both promote a business serving clientele w/text "Valmor Products  Co. Chicago, Ill., U.S.A." The first was in use before he became champion in 1937 and refers to him as "Heavyweight Sensation" while the second was issued after he defeated Braddock (see previous lot) and uses the title "World's Heavyweight Champion". First has faint age dot at 2 o'clock edge and slightest top right barely felt dent. VF. The second has a few light scratches in reflected light. Exc. First is rare, secondsScarce.
