Item Description
1.25" w/W&H back paper in use 1900-1912. Beautiful sepia photo without dot screen shows him in crisp detail wearing fringed buckskin jacket and fancy shirt showing three flower designs. We've seen this photo just once before on a button, but that had a cream background unlike this image with deep sepia background. At first he was a Buffalo Bill competitor who began Pawnee Bill's Historic Wild West show in 1888. Twenty years later he briefly partnered with Cody in 1908 forming the "Two Bill's" show. High gloss and Exc. One known to us. Rare.
