Item Description
The first Frontier Days event in Cheyenne was in 1897 and the first button known to us was made as a second year souvenir in 1898 (see Button Power p. 84). This large 1.75" from 1908 is the next earliest we know of. It carries small text "Copyrighted 1907 By J. E. Stimson" but no maker's name. Right white background has slight trace of gray tone barely seen. Full gloss and VF. One known to us. This is photo example used (p. 145) for Button Power: 125 Years of Saying It With Buttons by Christen Carter and Ted Hake. Comes w/Hake's COA.
