Item Description
1.5" no maker. Tin covered back is missing the original horizontal bar pin, but a straight pin of correct length has been substituted and works just fine to lock the point under the clasp. The only other defect is 1/8" long by 1/16" deep cello chip off the side edge at 9 o'clock and not seen from the front. Camera was positioned at an elevation and looks down on row upon row of spectators plus gas lights and bare branch trees above the street procession w/five flag-draped horses pulling the gun carriage with two drivers and the flag-draped coffin. Many men in military garb accompany procession plus a double line of police hold back crowds on both sides of the street. Various dignitaries are known to have followed the carriage on horseback, including her son Edward VII, and they are present in this photo but details are too small for us to positively identify. Cello front is NM. One known to us. Rare.
