Item Description
1.25" no maker with open back and fixed horizontal bar pin. The only real photo button we've seen in our 55 years produced by photographing what appears to be a real photo postcard. The top edge of the card is at top of button and button photo at far right top edge even captures a tiny round head tack securing the card to a wall. The steer has artist added vertical suspensions at each horn tip leading to circle with hand lettering on the left "Opens/Oct. 20,/1900" and on the right "Closes/Nov. 2,/1900" plus below hand lettered text "I'll Be There/Will You". There is also a postmark-like pair of circles w/outer reading "San Antonio International Fair/1900"and inner circle reading "Opens/Oct. 20th/Closes/Nov. 2nd". Very light stain on left from 6-11 o'clock but shows very little. Full gloss. VF. One known. This is photo example used (p. 82) for Button Power: 125 Years of Saying It With Buttons by Christen Carter and Ted Hake. Comes w/Hake's COA.
