Item Description
6.75x9-3/8" newsprint magazine w/36 pages. Vol. 23, No. 608, published Oct. 28, 1933 by Allied Newspapers Ltd. in Canada. Magazine features great King Kong cover, w/detailed illustration showing Kong ripping a train car in half, dumping its occupants onto collapsed raised railway. Great vintage publication from year of the film's original release, issue features final, seven-page serialization of King Kong, complete w/illustrations including Kong on Empire State Building and at Skull Island gates. Rest of magazine is typical pulp adventure content (including one story w/stereotypical Chinese depictions of the era) and ads, including ad for Mickey Mouse watches. Issue has had bottom right corner clipped and shows staple rust. Moderate handling/aging w/some scattered minor staining. VG overall. Rare King Kong publication, the first example we've offered in our 55 years.
