Item Description
2.5x3.5". The 1958 Topps Baseball set consists of 494 cards. Each card front features either action poses or bust portraits with a solid color background. The player's name is printed across the top with his team affiliation across the bottom. The 1958 Topps set was the first to carry subsets (identified as "Sport Magazine All-Stars") and is host to a wealth of variations, including 33 pieces (between #s 2-108) that carry player or team names found in either yellow or white lettering, with the yellow version, including those of Aaron, Clemente and Kaline, being among the more cherished pieces. Topps withdrew card #145 from the set after its player, Ed Bouchee, was suspended from the game.

This is the only card to ever feature Hank Aaron and Mickey Mantle together. With a total of 1,291 home runs between the two, this card packs a lot of power. Aaron reached his mark with a quick bat and consistency while Mantle made his mark with brute strength. In 1957, both men were named MVP of their respective leagues, but it would be Aaron who walked away with a World Series championship as the Milwaukee Braves defeated the New York Yankees in seven games. Aaron would shine at the plate by hitting .393 with 11 hits, three home runs and 7 RBI. It would be Aaron's lone championship during his long career. Mickey Mantle was inducted in the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1974 while Hank Aaron was inducted in 1982.
