Item Description
2.5x3.5". The 1960 Topps Baseball set consists of an astonishing 572 cards. The cards are best remembered for their horizontal design and sun-drenched hues with a large color portrait or pose at the right two-thirds and a black-and-white action photograph at the left. The set was issued in three series (with the final series, #'s 507-572, being the most difficult to secure). Notable variations include cards #375-440, which can be found with backs printed on either white or grey cardboard, with the white stock being less common.
Stanley Frank Musial, nicknamed "Stan the Man", was an American baseball outfielder and first baseman. Widely considered to be one of the greatest and most consistent hitters in baseball history, Musial spent 22 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, from 1941 to 1944 and from 1946 to 1963, before becoming a first-ballot inductee into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. Some of his many career highlights include being a 24 time All-Star, a three time World Series Champion, a three time MVP and a seven time NL batting champion. He was named as part of the Major League Baseball All-Century Team.
