Item Description
2.5x3.5". The 1960 Topps Baseball set consists of an astonishing 572 cards. The cards are best remembered for their horizontal design and sun-drenched hues with a large color portrait or pose at the right two-thirds and a black-and-white action photograph at the left. The set was issued in three series (with the final series, #'s 507-572, being the most difficult to secure). Notable variations include cards #375-440, which can be found with backs printed on either white or grey cardboard, with the white stock being less common.
Willie Howard Mays Jr. , nicknamed "the Say Hey Kid" and "Buck", is a former center fielder in Major League Baseball (MLB). Regarded as one of the greatest players ever, Mays ranks second behind only Babe Ruth on most all-time lists, including those of The Sporting News and ESPN. Some of his many career achievements include being a 25 time All-Star, 12 time Gold Glove Winner, two time MVP, Rookie Of The Year and World Series Champion. Willie Mays was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1979 and is currently the oldest living member.
