Item Description
1-3/8x2-3/8". This is 50 card set lithographed series entitled "Sports Records". The white bordered cards have a scene and a caption. The backs carry the "Sports Records" title and an ad for Turf Cigarettes. The single baseball card in this set depicts George Sisler and has a short bio of him on the reverse of the card.

George Harold Sisler, nicknamed "Gorgeous George", was an American professional baseball first baseman and player-manager. From 1915-1930, he played in Major League Baseball(MLB) for the St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators and Boston Braves. He manages the Browns from 1924-1926. Some of his career highlights include four times leading the AL in stolen bases, being a two time batting champ and an AL MVP in 1922. Sisler was elected to the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1939.
