Item Description
1.25" w/filled metal back w/St. Louis Button Co. on reverse. An ornate trigate w/a shield background and a star border. The coattail is believed to be Samuel Alschuler, a Jewish Democratic politician who ran unsuccessfully for Illinois governor in 1900. In his later life his served as a federal circuit court judge. A touch off-center, otherwise only minor surface wear. There is another variety of a Bryan/Stevenson/Alschuler trigate, but this is our first offering of this coattail variety. Exc.
