Item Description
8.5" long w/1.75" highly domed Morton portrait cello. Has facsimile signature below his portrait. After serving as Benjamin Harrison's VP from 1889 to 1893, Morton was Governor of New York in 1895-1896. Morton was a contender for the Republican presidential nomination in 1896, but he finished fourth in the first and only ballot, losing to William McKinley. This badge would have been worn by Morton delegates at the RNC held in St. Louis, MO. One metal tassel at the bottom left is missing. Otherwise only light surface wear on the ribbon and the cello. Extremely Fine. John Hillhouse Collection.
