Item Description
1.25" w/Brown & Bigelow St. Paul on curl. "Theo. Wm & Coe. Progressive Trio" above trigate portraits w/slogan "Not Stalled Warts Or 'I'" below. A remarkable slogan taking aim at establishment GOP members of the era. Crawford was Gov. of South Dakota while running a victorious campaign for one of the state's Senate seats in 1908. Trivial surface bumps to touch, faint age at extreme outer edge and a tiny gray dot in printing at 5 o'clock. Extremely Fine. Only the third example we can recall in our 56 years. An important coattail rarity displaying the connection between TR and Taft. John Hillhouse Collection.
