Item Description
Founded in 1953, Bastei Lübbe AG is one of the largest publishing groups in Germany. Offered here is the mixed media original art for the front cover to Maureen Shannon's "The Love Song From Beyond" magazine publication, one of a series of 170 issues published 1979-1985 dealing w/ghosts and the supernatural. Art is on 11-5/8x15-3/8" sheet w/attached vellum overlay and shows frightened woman being serenaded by spectral troubadour. Art is by Heinz Lingen, who has signed at bottom center. Art has pencil caption in German at top w/some staining at left; not affecting art, which remains clean. Sheet has some corner tip/edge wear and is VF overall. Comes w/reading copy of the publication this cover art was created for.
