Item Description
12x17" DC Comics artboard features pen and ink original art for cover to Superman Vol. 2 #63, published by DC Comics Jan. 1992. Art is by Dan Jurgens w/inks by Brett Breeding and shows wonderful scene of Superman and Aquaman swimming in the deep, w/a sunken galleon on the ocean floor and a shadowy figure (who would turn out to be Superman's one-time mermaid girlfriend Lori Lemaris) watching them from behind a rocky outcrop. Artboard has aged acetate sheet stapled at top and "Superman & Aquaman" title logos have been applied to backside, w/correctional fluid filling in parts of text so as to hide linework of art. Art itself has stats for publishing indicia and story promo text box at lower left. Top margin has inked names of Superman Editor Mike Carlin, Jurgens, Breeding as well as title, publication date and issue number. Back has partial DC Comics copyright inkstamp and printers job inkstamp. Left margin has been inscribed and signed by Breeding in black ink. Acetate has evenly aged and has some aged tape at margins, but art remains clean and Exc. Great Superman and Aquaman art.
