Item Description
1.5" w/union bugs on curl. Produced for an event at University of California Berkeley only two weeks after Huey Newton and Bobby Seale founded the Black Panther Party. A crowd approaching 10,000 attended the event that featured Stokely Carmichael, then transitioning from his lead role at SNCC having accepted the position of "Honorary Prime Minister" of the BPP. Two tiny indentations just below the Panther's claws w/slightly uneven surface to the touch a result of bend in metal collet. Extremely Fine. An important historical button from the Bay area combining the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and BPP.
