Item Description
1.75". No maker. Simple yet impactful design of black text on yellow bkg. 'Hey-Hey 1927 Pirates" w/pair of stars. The 1927 Pirates won the National League pennant with a final record of 94-60 under manager, Donie Bush. The Bucs were led offensively by a quintet of future National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees: Joe Cronin, Kiki Cuyler, Pie Traynor, Lloyd Waner (Little Poison) and Paul Waner (Big Poison). Pittsburgh would go on to lose the 1927 World Series to a powerhouse New York Yankees squad that many consider to be the greatest baseball team of all time. Trace of aging to metal back. Few tiny age dots on back rim curl. Front is bright and glossy. VF. Rare button for which there was not an example in the Muchinsky collection.
