Item Description
4.5x9.5x4" deep box w/nicely illustrated lid contains well made mostly tin litho toy by Masudaya/Modern Toys, Japan, 1960s. The plain box bottom has lt. creases along bottom side edges, lid has .5x1" spot w/some missing surface paper at top right, lower right has .5" hairline puncture. Lid remains tight and clean. Still displays VF and has cardboard insert. The spacecraft is marked "U.S.A.-NASA Apollo." Front has domed plastic cover over astronaut figure which has tin litho body and vinyl head. He is seated behind control panel w/additional controls behind him. On the ship's roof on either side of the center fin are three different colored plastic domes. Comes w/separate attachment which is a 3" long astronaut figure on a wire so it appears as if floating in space. Has tin litho body w/vinyl head. Toy works and travels around w/non-fall action as the color domes light and a pinging sound is produced. Great design and action. N. Mint.
