Item Description
14.25x19.25" display on heavy board w/mat. Kelly Freas original painted art. Original preliminary art image size is about 4.5x4.75" showing couple looking straight through a jewelry store window at a shining diamond. Final spoof ad was changed to show couple shown in a side view instead and designed to spoof "A Diamond Is Forever" De Beers slogan and replaced with "...Paying For A Diamond Is Forever". Final ad was used for the inside cover of the Fall 1970 MAD Special magazine. Lt. aging/wear to mat. Art has horizontal crack across lower third of thick artboard on close inspection. Also matted is a removed cover from original magazine. Inscribed at top by a collector who gifted the piece. Signed under art on mat and inscribed by Freas. Overall still displays VF.
