Item Description
Blister card contains 2.25" tall Kenner action figure w/"Vinyl Cape" variety. Australian release by TOLTOYS, featuring vinyl of a noticeably darker shade than the US release. While Obi-Wan Kenobi capes have been cut down by unscrupulous parties to fashion vinyl capes for Jawas, all Vinyl Cape Jawas released in Australia feature this darker color vinyl as produced. Cape is free of any discoloration. Also of note is that fact that this figure is carded on an Empire Strikes Back card, whereas the short-lived US Vinyl Cape Jawas were only released on Star Wars blister cards. Very few of these Vinyl Cape Jawas were released by TOLTOYS in Australia, all on this Empire 41 Back-E card and featuring the later style Jawa blister, which angles out at the top. This Australian variety was only released in this format and only for a very brief time period. Card has been punched. Archival case. AFA subgrades are as follows - C50 B80 F70. While US Vinyl Cape Jawas are highly coveted among collectors, the example offered here represents an exceedingly rare opportunity for Star Wars collectors to add this Australian rarity to their collection. First time offered by any auction house and one of only five examples graded by AFA according to current AFA Population Report. Comes with notarized Collectible Investment Brokerage (CIB) LOA.
