Item Description
12x19x2" deep illustrated cardboard box contains 19" long plastic and metal "Mare's Laig" that ejects shells (factory sealed bag of 18 included; 10 copper clad, eight black plastic) and comes w/tan vinyl "Fast Draw Holster" w/leg strap (also issued in black). Marx, c. 1959. © Four Star - Malcolm. Josh Randall (a bounty hunter) carried a shortened Winchester Model 1892 rifle called the "Mare's Leg" in a holster patterned after "gunslinger" rigs. Lid features a total of five photos of Steve McQueen in action and tinted illustration of gun and holster. TV show ran from 1958-1961. Text includes "Fast Draw Fanner Action - Fires By Lever Or Trigger - Load And Eject Realistic Bullets - Fast Draw Holster Has Leg Strap - Rapid Fire Lever Action." Instructions for loading caps and firing inside box lid. Marx produced three Mare's Laig models, this is the largest (virtually 1:1 scale). Box has original insert and shows just lt. surface dust and handling wear. Corners are tight. Exc. Set is unused, gun never fired and complete. NM. A classic Steve McQueen collectible.
