Item Description
This truly impressive item is filled w/detailed information and images in every way, shape and form covering all aspects of the Mickey Mouse Club operated by movie theaters across the UK. 8-7/8x11.5" cardstock folio cover holds complete set of 21 single-sided 8.5x11" sheets, each numbered and bound at top w/pair of brass tabs. Complete cover text reads "General Campaign Covering Launching And Operation Of The Mickey Mouse Club - An Organization For Boys And Girls - Being A Summary Of: What The Mickey Mouse Club Is: What It Does For The Theatre: What It Means For The Children, And How To Organize And Conduct A Mickey Mouse Club." Cover features classic image of Mickey Mouse wearing club button w/small "Copyright 1930 - By  Walter E. Disney - All Rights Reserved For Great Britain" text below. Contents differ somewhat from the US version, including club badges shown that are unique to the UK. We show some of the most interesting pages in the catalog and online. These are graphic-centric, while many feature only text. Club items shown include - membership application form, membership card, store window sticker and sign, the aforementioned Class A and B club badges, birthday card, etc. There is also a page of theatre slides promoting the club. Detailed text includes "Mickey Mouse Club Creed," subjects such as "How To Organise And Operate A Club, Mickey Mouse Orchestra," etc. as well as noting matinee ideas, having a club room in the theatre, carnival processions, advertising and displays, theme song and notice not to let outside organizations commercialize the club. Last four pages have sample newspaper stories to submit w/blanks provided for specific clubs/theatres. All pages have lt even aging but remain supple. Scattered corner tip wear and one sheet has been folded into eights as removed and has two tears at top w/2" loose piece. This page is VG. Another sheet has some stray penciling but o/w pages are clean and Fine to VF. Cover has moderate margin aging and edge wear w/scattered creases and corner foxing. Back has large area of paper remnants as once mounted. Archival tape repairs to interior of bottom fold. Cover is VG. First example of this rare UK kit we've seen in our 56 years (we have previously sold two example of the US kit; both realizing between $1,300 and $2,000) and one of the most interesting Disney items we have ever offered. An invaluable reference for the club.
