Item Description
Lacquered papier-mache snuff box 3-5/8" dia by .75" deep. "Andrew Jackson" and "Martin Van Buren" formed the Democratic Party ticket in 1832. "Henry Clay" was the nominee of the National Republican Party. The party's V.P. nominee was John Sergeant, but in 1832 "Daniel Webster" was a major ally of Clay in opposing Jackson's economic policies, most notably Jackson's campaign against the Second Bank Of The United States. The lid has all over hairline crazing as typical w/ some areas of lacquer off, most notably at 12 o'clock. Some chipping along the sides and bottom. VG. Rare.
