Item Description
12x16" artboard has mixed media original art by comic artist J.L. Blume, known for his cover work on Spanish comic books starring The Phantom. Cover is for the Spanish edition of "El Hombre Enmascarado" #6, which was published in Spain by Valenciana as part of their Del Colosos Comic line in 1980. Artboard has image area measuring 10x14.25" showing art for "The Secret Island Cave" cover story, w/The Phantom steering a Spanish Galleon ship and throwing a grappling hook. Signed by Blume on art. Back has the artist's inkstamp. Lt. aging/handling wear. Art remains bright, clean and displays Exc. Cover and contents were exclusive to the Spanish market and saw no US counterpart. Comes w/reading copy of the comic this cover art was created for.
