Item Description
Large and impressive 35.25x52.5" custom frame contains hand-crafted cover recreation of the variant cover of Ultimate Fallout #4 (2011), featuring the introduction of Miles Morales as Spider-Man. Art is by Matthew DiMasi, known for his "Shattered" cover recreations using shattered ceramic tiles to recreate famous comic book covers, w/Marvel using his mosaic art as actual variant covers for some of their comics. Mosaic recreates Mark Bagley and Andy Lanning's original cover, featuring Miles in costume, holding Spider-Man mask. This recreation omits the other heroes seen in the bkg. of the originally published comic. Framed piece has depth of 2" and features glossy ceramic tile pieces that have been mounted in sanded grout on wooden tile board. Glossy frame has been painted w/base coat/clear coat car paint. DiMasi's original art was published by Marvel as a variant cover for the facsimile edition of Ultimate Fallout #4 in Nov. 2021. Pinpoint chip to top center of frame, but piece is o/w NM. Comes w/three variant cover copies of the comic book that this mosaic was produced for (all three cover variants: (A)-3,000 copy print run, (B)-600 silver cover copy print run and (C)-Sunset cover NYCC edition-1,000 copy print run). Given the size and materials used to create this piece, it is rather heavy. Due to size and/or weight of this item, shipping charges may be substantial.
