Item Description
3" w/metal back and horizontal bar pin. Produced by Frank Allen Specialties in New York City. Utilizing high contrast photo of JFK w/book case background. Moderate oxidation on metal verso not affecting front. Cello has only trivial wear and remains NM. A superb display example and rarely offered. This design graces the cover of Harvey Goldberg's Kennedy collecting guide "The Campaign Items Of John F. Kennedy." John Hillhouse Collection. A note from Americana Specialist Scott Mussell: Despite how Joe Kennedy Sr. reportedly felt I have always thought these were among the finest designs from the 1960 campaign and while the Cox & Roosevelt jugate buttons are considered the most highly prized buttons among Presidential campaign material collectors- it is hard for me to imagine that these Kennedy buttons don't rank closely both now and especially in the long run. They are steeped in fascinating history combined with extreme rarity and feature the most iconic candidate of the last half of the 20th century. It is a privilege to bring together these four outstanding buttons and present them to the collecting world for the first time all at once.
