Item Description
Blister card contains 3.75" tall Kenner action figure. Believed to be a pre-productions sample due to many characteristics which differ from known production versions. This Empire Strikes Back carded example contains the Taiwan version of the figure, previously only known to exist on Return Of The Jedi and Droids era packaging. Back of card is marked "Made In Taiwan" as well as bearing "W" vendor code. Known Empire Strikes Back production cardbacks feature "Made In Hong Kong" text, with "K" later being added to indicate the country and factory of origin. The blister seal also differs from known production versions as no footer is present. Taking these differences into account, this is believed to be a test sample sent from a Taiwanese factory back to Kenner in the US for inspection, as Kenner would not begin producing production versions of the figure until the debut of the Return Of The Jedi packaging. Very rare and the only such known example. Card has been punched. Archival case. AFA subgrades are as follows - C75 B80 F85. Verified to have come directly from former Kenner employee. Comes with Collectible Investment Brokerage (CIB) LOA.
