Item Description
Vintage glossy 8x10-1/8" photo shows Marvel Comics Editor Stan Lee standing in front of wall of Marvel comic books including Avengers #53, X-Men #45, Daredevil #41, Thor #154, Doctor Strange #170, Amazing Spider-Man King Size Special #4 and others. Bottom right bears printed "Excelsior!" inscription and signature. Photo was offered in July and Aug, 1968 issues of Marvel comics, where it was sold for $1 and ordered from Poster-Pix, a company owned by Marvel. Of note, these comic advertisements mentioned there would be a series of Marvel Bullpen photos, though only Stan Lee was released at the time. Photo shows some lt. handling wear w/very faint vertical fold at center, which is only visible in reflected light. VF overall.
