Item Description
1.5x2.5". Issued continuously from 1887 to 1890, the Goodwin Company's Old Judge baseball series depicts hundreds of ballplayers from more than 40 major and minor league teams, as well as boxers and wrestlers. Astonishingly, more than 4,500 different types of cards and variations are known to exist. Image presented here is bold with fine contrast, a most important aspect of these Old Judge tobacco cards. Dummy Hoy is the most accomplished deaf player in MLB history, and is credited by some sources with causing the establishment of signals for safe and out calls.
