Window box contains Optimus Prime (Autobot Commander). Hasbro, ©1984. While this is a rare Trademark logo box (which is much rarer than the Registered logo), it is also what's known as the "Error" box. This pertains to the overprint of a small portion of the radar dish from Optimus Prime's trailer headquarters (as seen on the bottom panel of the box) onto the front panel. Other box differences include - lack of white border around the three inset photo images of the toy on front of box and the extension of the gray grid design approx. 1/8" into gray portion of box above Optimus Prime's cab and small area between trailer and illustrated image of Optimus Prime's hand. The differences did not stop w/the box however, as the trailer's stabilizer legs are made of a lighter shade of blue plastic compared to later releases. This lighter blue color also differs from the legs/hitch area of Optimus Prime himself, which are the more commonly seen dark blue. MISB w/intact tape seals at left/right, showing no color breaks. Archival case. AFA subgrades are as follows - B80 W85 F85. Extremely rare as sealed and one of just three sealed examples graded by AFA, w/only one higher graded example. Among the most desirable Series 1 Transformers toys and extraordinarily difficult to find in original factory state.
