Item Description
8.5x12.5" album w/20 pages containing complete set of 144 thin paper full color cards; each is 2x3" and mounted at appropriate spots. Issued in Spain by Fher (known for their album and card sets), 1959. One of two different Captain Marvel albums released by Fher (see previous lot for other album). Great cover art features images of three Captain Marvel cards within. Pages have Spanish captions by each card (with art as opposed to photo images as seen in Fher's earlier set). Story features both the Marvel and Sivana families and includes their origin as well as adventure that takes them to space, under the sea and elsewhere and ends w/Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr. and Mary Marvel triumphant. Complete w/Fher order sheet inside front cover. Cover is evenly aged w/moderate spine wear including splits and small tears w/moderate edge wear along lower right side. Pages have evenly aged and show some scattered wear, w/small hole at top of title page. Center is loose. Album is VG/Fine overall. Cards are mostly EX to NM as mounted. Rare complete album, and only the third such example we've offered in our 56 years.
