Item Description
9x9-5/8" album w/20 pages, containing complete set of 180 thin paper color-tinted cards; each is 2x2-7/8" and mounted at appropriate spots. Issued in Spain by Fher (known for their album and card sets), 1940s. One of two different Captain Marvel albums released by Fher. Great cover art features Captain Marvel and villain The Scorpion. Pages feature Spanish captions by each card (which features photo images as opposed to art as seen in other set), telling the story of the 1941 Adventures Of Captain Marvel Republic movie serial, which starred Tom Tyler and Frank Coghlan Jr. in the title role. Cover shows moderate scattered wear w/scattered staining to back cover, which also bears inkstamp. Scattered color touches throughout pages. Album itself is Fine overall while cards are overall EX to NM as mounted. Rare as complete. Comes w/6x8-3/8" Spanish novelization of the serial, w/56 pages. Includes bw photos from the serial. Booklet shows obvious handling wear and is VG overall. Scarce and the first we've offered in our 56 years.
