Item Description
7-1/8" tall (10.75" tall to top of raised handle) tin litho w/raised base. Ohio Art, 1930s. Sides show Mickey Mouse and Pluto in boat fishing, a "No Fishing" sign clearly posted on bank of lake. Mickey ignores fish as he gazes at Minnie Mouse, who walks toward Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. Comes w/generic painted tin shovel of the era. Pail's handle is slightly misshapen. Pail's interior has scattered spots of oxidation and spiderwebbing to paint. Interior is VG. Exterior shows just lt. wear/aging w/some minor spiderwebbing to surface and some scattered paint nicks/scratches, most notably a series of small scratches above Minnie. Exterior o/w remains glossy w/rich color and is Fine overall. One of the rarest and most sought after Disney pails, this just the third example in our 56 years. The other two examples (in similar condition) sold for $1,454 in 2015 and $3,245 in 2017.
