Item Description
15.25x17-7/8" frame contains acrylic on Masonite board that has been professionally matted to 10.25x12.75". Original art by legendary fantasy/sci-fi and comic book artist Greg Hildebrandt was created for the Harry Potter Trading Card Game (at one time the card game was the second best-selling in North America), published by Wizards of the Coast in 2001. Card No. 60/80 - Freeze! - is from the Diagon Alley Expansion set. Painting depicts the effects of the Freeze spell card, a cat being stuck to the ground due to a freezing spell cast by an unruly Hogwarts student. Hildbrandt has signed at lower right. NM. On a personal note, the cat used for reference in this painting was Greg Hildebrandt's cat Mikey. For this reason, he held this painting back from being auctioned until now. Original art from this trading card game rarely, if ever, comes up for sale.
