Item Description
When the Star Wars trilogy was re-released in the 1990s and word got out that George Lucas was going to be making prequel films, a new wave of Star Wars merchandise began to be produced. Offered here is a four-piece  prototype for a statue produced by CinemaCast, a hard copy of the prototype presented to Lucas for approval. This design was ultimately rejected by Lucas and a second prototype was created and ultimately approved. The original prototype featured the "Star Wars" logo similar to how it appeared on the famous opening text crawl at the beginning of the films whereas the final design featured it as it appeared on the movie poster. Both designs were based on the Hildebrandt Bros. movie poster design and feature Princess Leia w/blaster and Luke Skywalker w/raised lightsaber. There were subtle differences in how the characters' clothing was presented, the position of Leia's head and both figures' likenesses were altered to look closer to Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. Final production size measured 10" tall; this is slightly smaller w/overall height of 9.75" to tip of raised lightsaber blade (which is a separate piece). Both Luke and Leia figures are separate cast pieces and fit into base. Some lt. aging but displays Exc. Comes with notarized Collectible Investment Brokerage (CIB) LOA.
