Item Description
18x22" frame. Crane Bros had already been running a successful pipe, steam and gas fitting business in Chicago for three decades by the time this pamphlet came out, but their venture into hydraulic elevators (Crane's Victorious Passenger Elevator) was short lived. Excruciatingly rare broadside advertises a passenger elevator paired w/a Crane Bros proposal to the New York Merchantile (Stock) Exchange to supply their elevators. It is likely that Otis fulfilled these needs, acquiring Crane Hydraulic quickly thereafter and dominating the industry since. Rare early technology document.
