Item Description
Lot of six. Approximately 3x5". c. 1890s. All are bright and colorful. First is Hires Root Beer w/boy wearing straw hat, holds empty glass and says "All Gone." Next is Hires Root Beer showing girl w/newspaper hat. Hat has been folded to show Hires Root Beer ad. Back text explains "What Came From The Newspaper Hat." Darkened areas. Another interesting one shows toddler crying at table as he reaches for pancakes while wearing a "Heckers' Self Raising Buckwheat" box on his head. Caption reads "He Knows A Good Thing When He Sees It!" Extensive back text w/features/benefits. One insect spot along side margin. Next is "Comstock's Dead Shot Pellets For Worms" has illustration of child putting on large boots. Also offered is "Kerr's Six Cord Spool Cotton." Bottom text reads "Hold The Back Of This Card Over A Lamp Or Near A Red Hot Stove For One Minute/To Discover The Gypsy's Secret." Last is illustration of two dogs chasing rat down hole w/text "Compliments Of David Landreth & Sons." Blank reverse. Nice grouping. Fine to VF.
