Item Description
2-1/16x3-1/8". The 1951 Bowman Baseball set consists of 324 cards. Each simple card front displayed a player's likeness, most of which were recognizable press photographs enhanced by painted color and embellished by the player's name caption. The set contains many future HOF'ers but it is the final 72 cards, the "High Numbers," that took the set to the proverbial "next level" thanks to the iconic rookie cards of young New York stars Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays. Ted Kluszewski was an American Baseball player in Major League Baseball. He played from 1947 through 1961 with four teams and he spent 11 of his 15 seasons with the Cincinnati Reds as a first baseman. Kluszewski was a four time National League (NL) All-Star who hit at least .300 seven times and 40-or-more home runs in three consecutive seasons. He retired with a .298 lifetime batting average, 279 home runs and 1,028 RBI in 1,718 games. He was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall Of Fame in 1962.
