Item Description
3.5" dia. Text below the scene reads "The Glorious Victory; Achieved in the short space of Seventeen Minutes by the American frigate, United States, Commanded by Commodore Decatur over the British frigate, Macedonia; Mounting Forty Nine Guns". The HMS Macedonia surrendered to the USS United States on October 25, 1812. Light crazing throughout, as is typical, as well as some edge chipping along the rim. Otherwise moderate handling wear. VG.
