11x14". Copyright 1880 by H. W. Hitchcock. Jimmy Bland was an important composer of Negro Spirituals and is perhaps best known for "Carry Me Back To Old Verginny". Cover art depicts a scene of African Americans singing, praying, and dancing in a church service on the left w/angels flying and the heavenly gates opening up to the right. A few minor scattered edge tears and faint scattered stains. Otherwise moderate handling. VF.
