Item Description
10.5x16" artboard w/pen an ink original art for page 13 of Superman #279, published by DC Comics Sept. 1974. Art is by comic artist Curt Swan (1920-1996), best known as the artist most associated w/Superman titles during the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books. Frank Giacoia (1924-1988) inks. Story synopsis has Clark Kent (Superman) teaming up w/Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) and going up against oil smugglers. Art offered here features five panels, showing Clark Kent and Barbara Gordon in most panels. References to Batman. Last panel shows Clark using X-Ray vision to view the Twin Towers and another skyscraper that is about to collapse. Signed by Swan. Some blue pencil editorial notes/marks at top. Top margin has stamped title w/issue/page number in grease pencil. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. One type correction cut-in. Lt. aging/handling wear.
