Item Description
4x6x1.25" deep box has lid showing Batman holding radio w/Batman comic title logo on side panels. Box shows wear w/age spotting and .5x1" hole/tear to side panel of box tray. Box is VG overall. Box holds hinged metal case w/illustrated cardboard lid insert and textured outer covering w/metal nameplate w/batsymbol. Bottom of case has fabric-covered cardboard insert that holds 1x2.25x2" tall battery-operated radio by Topp, ©1966 NPP, Inc. Case is Exc. Radio has chromed metal front, back is white plastic version (also produced w/black and orange backs). Front speaker cover has "Batman Super Micro Radio" nameplate. Metal medallion w/batsymbol and "Transistor Bat-Radio" text attached by chain at top left. Medallion was used to open the screw on back for battery placement. Moderate wear to batsymbol side. Battery terminal shows some scattered corrosion and radio has not been tested. Top edge of radio has tiny bit of pitting but nearly full bright luster remains. Plastic back has some aging. Volume knob is missing small insert and shows some oxidation. VG/Fine overall. Also includes original earphone unit that comes in separate hinged plastic case. Exc. Comes w/warranty card has crease and aging. Fine. Rare and sought after Batman item.
