Item Description
Large and impressive 22-1/8x28" frame contains mixed media original art cover recreation for Captain America Comics #10 (Jan. 1942) featuring Captain America leaping to the rescue of Bucky, who is tied up by cultists, one entering his name in the "Hotel Of Horror - Register Of Death." Art was recreated by Captain America co-creator Joe Simon (1913-2011), who created the original art for this cover along w/fellow Captain America co-creator Jack Kirby. Art is quite detailed w/all text having been neatly hand-lettered and Simon has signed in pencil below art at lower right, w/"For Simon & Kirby - 1941" handwritten text. Art has been professionally and attractively double-matted and displays Exc. Harry Matetsky Collection.
