Item Description
Aviation hero Hop Harrigan was introduced in the first issue of All-American Comics, published as the flagship title of All-American Publications, (a forerunner to DC Comics) where it was published for 102 issues from 1939 to 1948 before All-American Publications and its titles were purchased by National Periodicals (DC Comics) in 1946. Offered here is 6-1/8x8-3/8" die-cut folder card that opens to 8-3/8x11.5" and features pop-up 5.25" tall die-cut figure of Harrigan standing next to image of All-American Comics #45 (Dec. 1942, featuring Golden Age Green Lantern) and promotes both the comic books and Hop Harrigan radio show as "Another Superman D-C Triumph For You!" These folder cards were distributed to newspaper/comics distributor as a promotional tool. Some lt. handling wear but VF/Exc. overall. Rare DC Comics promotional item and the first such example we've offered in our 56 years. Harry Matetsky Collection.
