Item Description
10-7/8x14-1/8" illustration board w/original mixed media original depicting full figure image of Superman in flight by Leo Nowak (1907-2001), known for his Golden Age contributions to Superman, working as Joe Shuster's assistant. In this role, he was the first (in both the comic strip and the comic books) to portray Lex Luthor as bald (Luthor having had red hair in his earlier appearances). Nowak also co-created Robotman w/Jerry Siegel. Nowak has signed art lower left, adding "'96" date. Exc. Harry Matetsky Collection.
