Item Description
Lot of four 6-1/8x7-1/8" illustration boards w/applied stats featuring designs for four different buttons - two different Captain Marvel designs as well as designs for Captain Marvel Jr. and Mary Marvel. Each bears 1948 Fawcett Publications, Inc. copyright on rim design. Unproduced, these prototype designs were evidently well underway before cancellation and were rescued from the Fawcett licensing files. Each artboard has vellum overlay w/hand-painted colors for each button design that match up to characters and names for eventual use by printer. Some scattered aging and staining, w/two spots of staining to board featuring walking Captain Marvel design. Fine to VF overall.
