Item Description
1-3/8x2.25". The W512 multi-sport set consists of 60 cards. Subjects are culled from such athletic pursuits as baseball, boxing, golf, and tennis, as well as aviators and Hollywood celebrities. Originally printed in strips and then hand-cut, card fronts feature a crude color drawing of its subject against a solid background; the card number printed at the bottom left corner. Card backs are blank. Conspicuous in its absence is any reference to a manufacturer.
Rogers Hornsby played for the Cubs 1929-32 and was also their manager 1930-32. Hornsby was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1942.
